Better Protection for Our Schools

Many cities across the country have chosen to vilify the police and protect the criminals and homeless. We shouldn't let Nashville go in the same direction.

Recently, our police force has shown great courage in the face of grave danger. They helped people to safety before and as the bomb was detonated on 2nd avenue and didn't hesitate to enter the building when the shooter was murdering innocent children and faculty at the Covenant school. Our police should be treated as the heroes they have shown to be and we should put together a pay package to attract officers from other states to fully staff our police force.

Gov. Bill Lee wants to put a student resource officer in every school. Metro should match that and have at least two SROs in every school, as well as install better barriers to keep our students safe.
